Ukraine is paving the way to combat fraud and economic crimes (ВІДЕО)
05-10-20162-day international seminar on state economic interests protection was launched in «President Hotel» with support of the European Commission, Department of Economic Protection (National Police of Ukraine), NAIA and international technical assistance instrument TAIEX.
Deputy Rector Serhii Cherniavskyi welcomed all the guests of the seminar and introduced the international and Ukrainian speakers.
Rector Volodymyr Cherniei mentioned that despite all factors affecting the economic crime combating, NAIA does its best to improve the qualification of staff. Complex of measures designed to achieve this goal will prove its efficiency only upon condition of close interagency cooperation. «Оne of ways to improve the situation is to create the Interagency (further transformed into international) Center of Law Enforcement Advanced Financial Investigation Training. A unique element of MoI structure – Specialized Institute of Postgraduate Training – can also join this project. For 15 years already NAIA provides high-quality educational services for law enforcement staff with different specialization including the corruption combating experts».
Serhii Cherniavskyi marked «financial criminality dynamics is a serious threat to the state economic stability – that is why his meeting is improve the methodology of relevant state institutes’ activity. Systemic approach and complex analysis are required – nowadays it is not enough just to chase the criminal, we need to outrun him by blocking the financial channels abroad and fostering asset recovery».
At the same time High Level Advisor on Money Laundering Issues of EU Advisory Mission in Moldova Igoris Krzeckovskis noted that Ukraine demonstrates strong determination for the search of solutions for current economic problems. In his opinion, this hard work will contribute to future improvement of economic criminality combating environment.
